My PhotoHello!
My name is Amanda Bielawski (Georgiou through Dominican as I have not yet changed my name). The picture above is from my Facebook account. This picture means the world to me, as I'm sure many of you can see why! On June 2, 2018 we got married at Naper Settlement in Naperville. We are expecting our first child this coming June...June 6th to be exact (it might fall on our anniversary!)
I am currently a Special Education Teacher at Troy Shorewood in Shorewood. This is my first year at Troy. I love being 15 minutes away from home. I previously taught at Cameron Elementary School in Chicago and my commute was over an hour and half each way. I am overly grateful for this opportunity at Troy. I am currently taking two courses right now and I will finish my Masters in Education after that and intend to graduate in May. Hopefully the peanut does not come early and I am able to walk!
My husband and I have two loving and fluffy Siberian Huskies, Skyler and Mia. They are both seven years old and still have so much energy! We have three beautiful nieces, Avery (2) , Addison (1) and Madison (4 months). In my spare time I like to craft (using my cricut), lay in the back yard by the pool and travel when we have time.

Social Media
I currently have had this blog since I started at Dominican, feel free to take a look at some of my other posts. I have a Facebook and an Instagram that I use daily. I also have a Twitter account, but I rarely use it. I am excited to start this semester and look forward to learning from all of you!

Good Day and nice to meet you Amanda I am Kaleena. I pray that you graduate on time. There was a story last year in the news about a woman graduating from a university in Louisiana who was in labor while she cross the stage to get her degree. I have other social media accounts that I really don't use either unless their is a project where I really have to use them. I remember the first social media account that I ever had back in the year 2000. It was a social media site called Blackplanet.com. I do not have an account on there any more but I think that the site is still up and running. Back then, I was a freshman in college just still learning all the aspect of an email. Congrats on your up and coming blessings.
ReplyDeleteHi Amanda. I love your picture. I grew up in Naperville and both of my daughters volunteer at Naper Settlement. It is such a fun place and I am sure your wedding was beautiful. I am also in my final two classes at Dominican and am looking forward to finishing up in May. I feel my courses are going to be fast and furious as they are both online and only eight weeks long. It sounds like you also have quite a bit on your plate with your baby on the way. Good luck to you! I look forward to finishing up this semester and learning from each other, too!
ReplyDeleteCongrats and hello again, Amanda! Like you, I made a move that greatly shortened my commute this year. The change in lifestyle by gaining back hours in the car commuting has be amazing! Looking forward to learning with you again.
ReplyDeleteHi Nicole.
ReplyDeleteGreat wedding photo and the photo of your dogs! Congrats on your wedding and baby to be! I feel that having a child makes you a better teacher and being a teacher makes you a better mother. It's a great profession to have! Enjoy your 15 minute commute! I used to work 3 minutes from my old school. Now I have a 20 minute drive. Still not bad, but boy do I miss that 3 minute commute. My sons would say the downfall to living in the same town that you work in is that I would see my students all over town. I would always have to stop and talk to them. They could never get me through a store without me running into someone I know. Do you run into parents or students now that you're close to home? You are one busy lady right now. Good luck with everything and looking forward to learning with you!
Kelli
Hello Amanda,
ReplyDeleteIt is so nice to meet you. I am excited to be working with you in this course. Congratulations on your wedding and your first child. It sounds like a very exciting time in your life. Your blog looks great so far. I also have a professional Twitter account that I just recently started using again so I can relate to it about rarely using Twitter. I look forward to working with you!
